EXTERNAL TRADE OF THE REGION IN THE PERIOD OF TEN MONTHS 2008.
The overall external trade in the Region of Sumadija and Pomoravlje for the period January - October 2008 amounted to USD 726,9 million.
The value of exports amounted to USD 283,6 million, which was a 28,3% increase when compared to the same period last year, while the value of imports amounted to USD 443,3 million, which was a 13,2% increase relative to the same period last year.
The deficit amounted to USD 159,7 million, which was an decrease of 6,5% in relation to the same period last year.
The export - import ratio equaled 64% and was higher if compared to the same period last year when it was 56,4%.
The major foreign trade partners in exports in the reference period were: Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Germany and Macedonia.
The major foreign trade partners in imports in the reference period were: Italy, Austria, Germany, Slovenia and Switzerland.
The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the European Union member countries (60% of the total external trade).
With former Yugoslav Republics, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia, external trade surplus was gained.
The major exports products were: cables and cable accessories, furniture, machine parts, plastic products, iron and steel products (castings, forgings, constructions…) and food processing products (mineral water, soft drinks, liquors, meat products…).
The major imports products were: chemical products (raw materials and materials for agricultural protection), plastic products, machines and their parts, vehicles and spare parts, electrical apparatus and devices.
