On the 5th of May 2007, within the campaign Veni, vidi, invest in Kragujevac, in hotel "Sumarice" in Kragujevac was held THE FIRST CENTRAL SERBIA INVESTMENT CONFERENCE, opened by state secretary in the Ministry of International Economic Relations Vlatko Sekulović, president of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kragujevac Dušan Puača, Mayor of City of Kragujevac Veroljub Stevanović and Vice president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Stojan Jevtić.

On the First regional Investment conference was gathered more than 150 representatives of towns, municipalities, enterprises- as for investment programs responsible parties, Universities from Central Serbia as well as foreign investors, international organisations and donors, investment funds, Chambers of Commerce, representatives of embassies in Republic Serbia and wider business public.

The aim of this conference was positioning of our region on FDI market, attraction of new investments, creation of new image of cities and municipalities business community in Central Serbia and support to the National Strategy for Encouraging and Developing Foreign Investment. Predrag Lučić, director of Agency for Investment Promotion and Business Support in Central Serbia, presented the investment potentials of Central Serbia followed by presentations of investment potentials of City of Kragujevac, University of Kragujevac- Science- technology park Kragujevac, municipalities Užice, Kraljevo, Svilajnac, Despotovac and Lapovo.
On the conference is signed CONVENTION OF CITIES, MUNICIPALITEIS AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS IN CENTRAL SERBIA on mutual appearance on FDI market. This convention predicts activites such as making of mutual Startegy for FDI attraction, making of Central Serbia investment potentials promotion programm, as well as making of "Master plan of Central Serbia economy development" which will be sinchronized with existing development projects. Convention signatories are Regional Chambres of Commerce and Industry Kragujevac, Požarevac, Kraljevo, Užice, Kruševac, City of Kragujevac, municipalities Požarevac, Kraljevo, Užice, Rača, Veliko Gradište, Lapovo, Rekovac, Knić, Paraćin, Despotovac, Topola, Svilajnac Aranđelovac and Ćuprija. Coordination of further activities on implementation of this Convention will be conducting Agency for Investment Promotion and Business Support in Central Serbia, within Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kragujevac.
The state secretary in the Ministry of International Economic Relations Vlatko Sekulović, said "The key for Central Serbia development is decentralization of FDIs, and events such this one and signing of Convention contribute to the better conditions for FDI attraction".
On the Conference were also presented further activities which will be undertaken in order to increase the competitiveness of the region on FDI market, among other presentation of investment potentials in Brussels.
